About This App

The Digicard Key mobile application is available for public use and enables users to write to and read data from the VeChain Thor blockchain via a mobile device. The mobile application records data to the Network allowing users to claim ownership of Items by proving the items are in their possession. This recorded data is saved securely to blockchain and may be reviewed using the Item’s Digital Landing Page. Through its series of processes and sequenced scans, tagged Items cannot be replicated, adding a highly secure layer of anti-counterfeiting measures.
  1. User downloads mobile application.
  2. User submits Item to Digicard Key or an Enterprise Partner via shipment to a Tagging Center, or at a Tagging Event.
  3. Digicard Key or Enterprise Partner receives the Item and creates the blockchain record with a Digital Landing Page using the Item’s information and tags the Item with an NFC chip. This onboards the Item to the Digicard Key Network.
  4. Digicard Key will assign ownership of the item.
  5. The item is submitted back to the Owner via insured FedEx or a physical hand-off at a Tagging Event.
  6. User receives the Item and scans the NFC with the Digicard Key mobile app to claim ownership and prove Item in Hand status.
  7. User can opt to have Digicard Key verify the ownership claim with a certificate recorded on blockchain.
  8. Users can then update their claims on demand to prove Item in Hand status.
  9. Users can share the Item’s Digital Landing Page via text or email or through an official Digicard Key email sent to a specific email address.

Verification Points

The verification points detailed below are available to be recorded to the blockchain using the Digicard Key Mobile Application.

Blockchain Record Created

Shares City/State, timestamp, and the organization name and logo (Digicard Key or Enterprise Partner) of who on-boarded the item to the network. As Digicard Key Enterprise Partners, Manufacturers, Auctions Houses, Consignment Services, Grading Companies, Authenticators and other approved organizations can all have their unique logos and assigned Verification Points created on the network and recorded to blockchain.

Ownership Assigned

Shares City/State, timestamp, and the organization name and logo (Digicard Key or Enterprise Partner) of whom on-boarded the item to the network.  It also shows the Network ID of the user who Digicard Key or the Enterprise Partners assigned ownership to.  This is the only user the system will allow to scan for the next Verification Point of “Item in Hand”.

Item In Hand

Shares City/State, timestamp, hand scan logo (indicated user scan), and the Network ID of the user who has scanned the item. “Item in Hand” closes the loop of ownership being assigned by Digicard Key or an Enterprise Partner, and can be updated on demand. Item in Hand is also available after Ownership Claims that are non-verified, and verified (when no ownership was assigned by an organization.)

Ownership Claim (Non-Verified)

Shares City/State, timestamp, hand scan logo (indicates user scan), and the Network ID of the user who has scanned the item. This claim has not been verified by Digicard Key.

Ownership Claim (Verified)

Shares City/State, timestamp, hand scan logo, Digicard Key lock logo, Ownership Claim Certificate, and the Network ID of the user who has scanned the item. Upon claiming for Item in Hand when applicable and Ownership Claim (Non-Verified), the user will receive an email with instructions for an optional verification of the ownership claim.  This adds an additional level of verification and requires deliverables back to Digicard Key from the owner.

Item at Auction

Shares City/State, timestamp, Enterprise Partner name and user id, logo, and link. Auction Houses can Assign Ownership and log transaction documentation.

Item on Consignment

Shares City/State, timestamp, Enterprise Partner name and user id, logo, and link. Consignment Services can Assign Ownership and log transaction documentation.

Tailored Solutions for Organizations

Organizations who wish to become part of the Digicard Key Network may request their own unique Verification Points.  Digicard Key will work to create customized processes in addition to on-boarding and assigning ownership.
